June 4th
What a difference from 2 years ago when we got almost 6 inches of rain. The old bridge across the Whitefish River was deemmed unsafe. Yesterday you could get across on crutches and not get a soaker. It's a drickle. The Kaministiquia River is even down farther. Although for some reason there were about 20 geese about 250 m west of the bridge on highway 588. There were also about 20 geese in the farmers field on the south side of the river along 588.
I saw 2 blue jays around Silver Creek on 588, plus numberous robins. On Townline road there were about 50 geese 1km past Government Road on the left. A goose, gander and 6-8 gooslings were beside the pond in the farmers' field beside the CPR tracks on Mud Lake Road.
Still no rain as of 6:38 am today, although the weather girl promised it would be raining. Does that make her a lier? Is her telepromoter is lying to her? We have never had a spring so hot and dry as this year. it was 33c out here yesterday. Just wait till summer gets here. The gardens are doing excellant as long as the wells don't run dry.
