Well I finally seen my first bear of the year yesterday about 4:45pm 1 Kilometre from Old Silver Mountain Road on 588. I would estimate he was about 500-600 pounds with a shiney black coat. The kind of bear I won't follow into the bush unless 2 of us were heavilly armed.

Still to see a skunk, porcupine, bear cubs, moose calves. I know they are out there, but eluding me for some reason.

" HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME"

My friend Andrew tells me that he and a friend saw a brush wolf on the south side of highway 11-17 at Fraiser Road last sunday morning.

Yesterday a I saw my first bald eagle being hassled by a crow near Townline Road and John Stret about 10am. Other than a few chipmonks and robins, that was it.

Not much to report as most of my friends are seeing nothing. I noticed the kaministiquia River above the bridge at Stanley is started to grow water weeds on the sand bar. the rivers are really low. The Whitefish River is just a meandering stream now.

It got up to 94F or 34c here yesterday. That would keep most of the animals in shade.

Not much moving around. Although my friend Glen did see a young bull moose on highway 595 nears the road to Adrian Lake about 9pm last wednesday. I talked to a fellow yesterday that saw a doe and 2 fawns on Saari Road NW of Murillo and a few days earlier had seen a large lone timber wolf walking the same road.

I must of seen 6 dead chipmonks yesterday. Odd.

lots of blue jays this year and robins as well as turkey vulchers.

2 days ago when I was picking up hay from my friend Gert, he was saying that morning 3 timber wolves were chasing his cattle. gert lives on John Street just past the city limits. He said one was black and the other 2 were tan coloured.

I have been seeing more blue herrons close to the city this year. Lots of rabbits as well so that means that there are still lynx around and wolves.

I've been filming a reality TV Show in HD for the past 3 weeks. Hope to market it before September and also have it on my web site through Pay Pal.

Daryle tells me that over the last 2 weeks she has seen 1 deer, 1 racoon in Hymers and countless rabbits in her daily travels.

I saw a baby fawn on sturday on my buddy's property while cutting his firewood. Also saw a buck in your yard about 10:30 pm who was totally confused. He ran west and then east twicw before running back the way he came into the yard.

As for bear sightings.NADA. Did finally see see some bear shit in my own yard. seems he  knows that I have about 150 saskatoon bushes in our yard. And yes they are big and ready to pick. I carry my trusty bear bangers with me as they do work.

Yesterday I saw 2 blue herrons flying over Pole Line Road and Twin City Crossroads and about 5 minutes later I filmed a doe and 2 fawns on Gratten Road. later in the day I saw another blue herron flying over a small pond just north of Dawson Road and Townline Road while 3 loons floated on the pond.

It has been a few days since I have up dated this blog.

2 days ago I saw a family of loons floating on a small pond north of highway 102. About 5 minutes later a blue herron flew over on its way to Toms' lake. Toms' lake is west of Townline Road and north of dawson Road.

Yesterday I saw a fox near the John Street dump on John Street that looked like it had mange and then another fox near Silver Creek on highway 588.

I noticed the Kaministiquia River was up about 1-2 feet and the tubers were floating down the river again. The families of geese on Mud lake Road are almost as big as their parents.

I was talking with my contacts and most of them are seeing to odd deer and a few birds. Now jenn was traveling on golf Links Road beside the Thunder bay Country Club last wednesday around midnight and witnessed a young moose cross the road and head across the golf course.

I was watching a John wayne movie last night when a buck crossed your yard, jumped the fences and proceeded towards the Whitefish River. I have seen many turkey vulchers, robins, and blue jays lately.
