May 2011 Archives
Seems like Government Road has a never ending supply of deer and geese. I am always seeing deer and geese from malpeward Road to Alice ave.
A friend of mine is telling that he has seen a large bull moose hanging around Mapleward Road about 1/2 mile north of highway 102 which is Dawson Road.
raining again. Still seeing lots of deer all over the place. Too many kind hearted people feeding them. Let the deer fend for themselves. was always curious about having an accident with a deer coming out of someones' yard. Can I sue the house owner for feeding deer that come out of their yard and hit my van?
Saw my first bear on North Road off of highway 588 while looking for a possible cougar sighting. Also saw a young buck across from the MTO yard on Mapleward. 3 deer were standing on the shoulder up Hazlewood Road. They were not scared of the moving cars and trucks.
Also filmed a goose with 4 goslings on Mud lake Road.
A friend of mine from South Gilles also seen his first bear arcoss from Adrian lake Road on highway 590.
was just talking with a fellow in kakabeka Falls who was telling me about a recent cougar sighting up North Road just past the Devon Road on highway 588.
Also seen lots of geese paired up for spring families. A mallard and a drake had me at a stop because they were walking on John Street near Bolter Road.
lots to report so here goes.
A friend in Nolalu has seen a cow moose between earl Road and Wheal Road during the afternoon several days in a row last week. His wife saw a cow moose with twin calves near Cedar Creek on highway 590.
The Kam River is up depending on when Hydro One lets the water go from Dog lake. Seems they are in control of Kakabeka falls. Maybe everyone should switch to green power and put Hydro One out of business.
Been seeinf and filming ground hogs, geese, ducks, partridge, rabbits and various birds.
Finally the leaves are being to start showing. time for a walk in the forest with my video camera and SLR digital camera and my bear bangers.
Have fun and be safe. Just leave your footprints.
yesterday a friend and I went to Little Dog lake. Is it ever down, but was open. Crooked rapids was almost non existent. Dog lake still had ice on it about 100 feet from shore. Was peaceful with just the 2 of us there.
Only a few birds flying about and no animals were spotted all day.
Kakabeka Falls is almost a non water falls as Hydro One has stopped the water at Dog lake. Just a trickle right now.
