Went for a drive to Kaministiquia wednesday. Saw a day ot two old fawn with its' mom on Centre Road near the hydro line. Even with all this rain we had the creeks and rivers are way down. Be careful in the bush as it is dry, and the bugs are really bad.

Still seeing lots of rabbits.

Just an update. Was talking with a friend in Kakabeka Falls a few hours ago. He said that one of his employees' son was chased by a bear on highway 595 between Hymers and highway 590 yesterday. The boy was quite shaken up but okay.

Carry pepper spray and bear bangers at all times when walking on country roads. A baseball bat or a 'Walking Tall' stick would help as well.

Talked to a friend in Nolalu who tells me he has seen a cougar twice about 40 kms down the Devon Road. Also filmed a fawn nursing from her mother this morning on John Street going west just past Boulter road.

Went to Rossport, Red Rock and Schriber yesterday. Rained most of the way there and back. Managed to film a bull moose from inside the car about 6pm and 10 kms' from Nipigon. Posted video to my facebook account. Off to Nolalu, and  Northern Lights Lake area this morning in search of cougars, bears, moose and deer.

Made a contact yesterday with a lady in Schriber who will telling me what she has been seeing. Their a cow and calf sighting in Marathon last week. They were out for a morning stroll down Pennisula Road. Bugs are getting bad in the bush so be careful driving, people.

Also saw 2 sandhill cranes just east of Pearl at the old Welch Creek Farm.

A friend and I just got back from Sleeping Giant Provinical Park. We hiked the 3-4 miles from the Thunder Bay lookout to Clavet Bay. The bugs were really bad, but the pink lady slipper mocassins being out made the year. Also saw a fox, 13 deer, a bear, and a female timber wolf. I photpgraphed the timber wolf from about 6 feet away as she walked past the van near Joeboy Lake about 1pm today.

Another cold cloudy day in and around Thunder Bay. I am recovering from a knee operation.

Did see a crow in the Grandview area that is mostly white with some black markings.

Will be in the bush this coming week.

Another night with light rain and now at 2:33pm it is just cooking at about 27C.

Was out for a morning drive. Just a few blue jays and robins flying around. Saw 2 of last years deer wandering along Harstone Road near the Kam river. They were in no hurry to get off the road. Nothing else was seen. Talked with a few of my connections in Nolalu and nobody has seen anything for a week or so.

made a trip to Sleeping Giant Provincial Park yesterday with a friend. The walk into the sea lion was rough with cowboy boots and water on my knee. made it though. Well worth the walk. About 1.2 kms' from the parking lot. the views along lake superior are spectacular.

Filmed a porcupine, the sea lion, a young buck, the view from the Thunder bay lookout.

The misquitos are starting again so wear a bug off jacket or bring fly dope. The forest is finally green and is very enjoyable again after a long cold spring.
