Drove to Thunder bay along John Street this morning. It is surprizing how low the McIntrye River is. Maybe they  should change river to stream or crick. All the creeks and rivers are way down.

With a trip down Government road I saw a fawn and 2 deer in a front yard near the bridge between Mapleward Road and Townline.

was chit chatting with a friend who has a camp up Mapleward Road. Anyway he saw timber wolves crossing mapleward Road just north of 3rd Concession or as it is called Salmi Road. He also witnessed a medium sized bear crossing mapleward Road near highway 102 this morning about 10:30 am.

Time to carry a big stick like a pitching wedge, or maybe a baseball bat or pepper spray or my favourite...bear bangers.

Another hot day coming our way. Humedex should top 43C with actual temp near 36C or 98F. Going to be like this all week. Almost too hot to go for a walk in the bush as fire hazzard is still high. Please don't walk and smoke. be careful with your campfires if you are camping.

Saw a bald eagle over Townline Road 2 days ago along with a turkey vulcher near Government road and Townline Road. Not much else moving out in the country as all the deer seem to have moved into the city where they are guaranteed food from the city population. Keep them. I want the moose back.

Been really humid lately. The berry crop was real good so far with still lots of raspberries. I haven't been seeing anything of note except a few blue jays, a few turkey vulchers, as well as squirrels, and chipmonks. There are still some geese with big babies but usually away from roads.
